Bing, of course, is a distant second to Google in terms of search. In survey after survey, and in our own case in client after client, Bing is lucky to break out of 20% of search volume. Often Bing is only 10% or less of inbound search volume to a website.
That said, Bing is No. 2 in search and often No. 2 tries harder! If you’re my age, you’ll remember OJ Simpson and that slogan… but we digress. In this quick blog post, let’s explore Bing Webmaster Tools: how to set it up, and how to use it. Plus we’ll identify some nifty Bing resources to help with your search engine optimization. Bing might be #2 in search, but Bing Webmaster Tools offers many things that Google does not.
Once you put the code on your website for Bing Webmaster Tools, or otherwise verify ownership, you’ll be verified and you’ll start to be able to use Bing Webmaster Tools.
So there you have it: a quick tour of Bing Webmaster Tools. We always set this up for our clients when we begin an SEO project, as Bing Webmaster Tools provides important diagnostic insights. Oh, and there is the Bing Webmaster Blog, which has some good reading as well. And there’s the Bing Webmaster Tools Help and How-To Center – another learning site for you on your Bing SEO journey.
