Question. Are the rules different for e-comerce websites, if so how?
Not really, in the sense that ultimately SEO is –
Really that’s all there is to it… but then it’s of course more complex. There’s the competitive level, but also for “e-commerce” you get into issues of how search for things-to-buy can be quite different from other types of search.
For things like “digital camera,” ironically, people a) often look at ads, and b) Google makes this even easier by showing what are called the PLA / Product Listing Ads.
Finally, getting REVIEWS to show on your pages via what is called Microdata is also every helpful for an e-commerce website. You can learn about Reviews and Microdata, here.
