Question. Last week Jason showed Salesforce.com and a text slider to punch up page one keywords. Could we use a text slider like Salesforce for blog or new posts?
HTML 5 “sliders” (more on them, here), allow you to make it easy to “hide” or “slide” content. So they are on the border between what’s forbidden (showing content to Google but NOT to humans) and what’s allowed (using up-to-date web technologies). Matt Cutts, of Google, has hinted that there might be problems with this…
So I would not overdo this, but you can put 3-5 of these guys at the bottom of the page, and make sure you write the text in such a way that it is good for BOTH humans AND search engine crawlers, and it’s a nifty way to cram more text on a page without making it too cluttered.
And yes you could use this tactic to “rotate” 3-5 new blog posts or news releases on your home page, and you’d have your cake and eat it too.
