Question: If I have build and hosted my website with GoDaddy, can I still host my blog and news releases on Word Press and have it show up on my home page?
GoDaddy, of course, is one of the largest Web hosting companies. It offers both standard hosting and WordPress-based hosting. That’s where it gets quite confusing. You have to differentiate among a number of things:
Then, to make matters more confusing, you can SPLIT one from the other. You can have a “traditional” website built in HTML and then append to it a blog, based on WordPress. GoDaddy could “host” both of these.
And, finally, WordPress (the software) should not be confused with WordPress.com, which is its own sort of “cloud-based” hosting. The former is like installing WORD on your PC; the latter is more like going to Kinko’s and “renting” computer access.
So, in sum, YES you can use Website Builder and then have a blog that is running WordPress. At the end of the day Google and Bing, really don’t care HOW you build the HTML website; they just care that they exist, have good keyword-heavy tag structure, and of course inbound links and social mentions.
