Q: WordPress has settings that allows you to give it your “keywords”. Can you comment on that tool, please –
There are two possibiltiies here. First, there is the META KEYWORDS tag. This occurs in many plug ins for WORDPRESS SEO. It is ignored. I use it just as a note to self.
Secondly, in the YOAST plug in, there is a tab called “FOCUS KEYWORD” This tool has a sort of ‘checkup’ function. It is not very well layed out. What it is trying to do is checkup if your target keyword occurs in the main tags (e.g., TITLE tag) and post content. So it is a useful checkup to whether you did your SEO correctly. But it is titled as if it is doing something, when what it is going is just checking a keyword against tag structure and content.
