Q: Is Yext a valuable tool for boosting local rankings? It makes sure your NAP is consistent across the board.
Yext, of course, is a location software company. Their value proposition is to “make it easy” to update your business location information across all platforms. That’s all well and good, but in reality there aren’t that many platforms that people really use. Usually it’s Google+ Local, Yelp, Citysearch, Urban Spoon and just a few others. It varies by industry.
So I do think that they have value but they sort of confuse the issue “as if” the quantity of your local listings was what matters, when really it’s the quality that matters; having well-thought-out, optimized listings, cross-linking those to your website, and most important: betting reviews. The quantity and quality of customer reviews is the No. 1 factor to success at local sites / local review sites.
