Answer. Google has made some major updates to its search algorithm, recently, namely: Panda and Penguin. Many sites believe that they have been hurt by one, or both, as well as subsequent roll-outs. For example, we just went through Penguin 2.0.
So how do you know if your website has been hurt by Panda or Penguin?

If you think you’ve been hit, the first step is to do some diagnosing, starting at Webmaster tools and also using tools like Open Site Explorer to see if you have an ‘unnatural’ link profile. Then, you have to undo the mess ,and that’s a whole ‘nother story!
