Q: He said that Google doesn’t use frames much. We have a lot of iframe videos on our site to show preview clips of the training videos we offer. Is there a way to add these video previews so that they help with our website SEO?
Answer. The short answer is no. Frames of any type are essentially one or more webpages “framed” inside another webpage. Frames were a big fad about 10 years ago.
About all that’s been retained is the iframe. But an iframe is still a frame, and if your homepage has an iframe with an embedded video in it Google can’t really penetrate that video so therefore it doesn’t really help the on page search engine optimization of the page.
Now, that said, embedding YouTube videos does seem to help your SEO performance. So the exception that proves the rule is that embedding YouTube videos probably does help the SEO performance of your webpages versus iframes which doesn’t.
