Question: Are product videos press release worthy, even if they are not professional done?
Question: I just found out about prlog through this seminar. Is it bad practice to upload older press releases (within the past 3 months?)
Answer: From an SEO and marketing perspecctive, any video that is useful to your user community is a good thing. One of the wonderful things about YouTube is that authenticity is worth more than technical skill; many successful YouTube videos in all walks of life are much ‘better’ in terms of authentic usefulness (or humor!) than they are at a technical level. So my rule of thumb is based on the audience or community: If THEY will find it useful, then produce it!
Generally, I would leave the past behind in terms of PRLOG.org. I wouldn’t go backwards to old content, but start to generate NEW content such as product press releases and syndicate that content as widely as possible. I do try to be ‘white hat’ in the sense of producing the highest quality (but good quantity!) content that I can. The real test is is it useful to users? If so, then produce it and use the tricks and tips of search engine optimization to get it as much publicity as possible!
