Question: I attended your webinar series in December. I have a question regarding to iframes. I am looking to put a health insurance quote generator directly on my website, but the company that outfits this generator gives it to me in the form of an iframe to em
Answer: Yes, you are correct. Iframes are not good for search engine optimization. When you place an iframe on a web page, you are essentially puncturing a whole in that HTML page and through that window the browser is loading another web page. It appears to the browser and human as one page, but it is in fact two pages.
So in this scenario even though to the browser or exhume and it looks like the webpages integrated, you are actually showing multiple webpages. Google is not a big fan of frames of any sort, and iframes is a subtype of frames.
So the bottom line here is that you cannot use iframes if you are seeking to use them to improve the search engine optimization position of a given website. Instead, you may need to have a programmer pulled the data that your seeking to put on your page, massage it and essentially trick Google into thinking that that data resides on your actual page. The best rule of thumb test here is just to view source and if you can see the keywords on the page then they exist for Google. If you do not see the keywords on the page, then they do not exist for Google!
