Question: My website is a microsite of a corporation that advertisess the same service. Does being a part of a bigger website affect how fast is going to be optimized?
Answer: That’s a good question, and it can go either way. If the larger corporate website has a powerful domain and is doing a good job at it search engine optimization, then being part of that larger Corporation will definitely help you. If the larger corporate website is badly done in terms of search engine optimization, then it will probably hurt you.
I have had people take our classes in search engine optimization were parts of large hotel chains and those hotel chains have horrible websites when it comes to SEO. So what these hotels do is they create smaller micro websites about their hotel that they fully optimize and so the end up with sort of two websites for SEO and friendly micro site that they manage, and a larger website that’s part of the corporate daddy that isn’t very well optimized.
So really depends.
