Question: My website is a blog, so very dynamic and always changing. When you choose keywords, for example recipes or coupons do you do keywords for each coupon? Do all coupon posts on the blog have the exact same keywords plus dif
Answer: I enjoyed your earlier questions. Blogging is just a ‘special’ type of SEO. Blogging is more micro focused than most company websites, but as you blog, think of taking a typical blog post title, and doing a little research. Then try to weave in the types of searches that people are searching for, and that will pull traffic to your blog.
Second, in terms of blogging, you want to think of ‘newsjacking.’ By newsjacking, you watch trends in your industry and try to be the FIRST to blog on them. The FIRST blogs have a lot of weight with Google and then get a virtuous cycle of pulling traffic FROM Google over to them. If you go to YouTube, there is a very good video by David Meerman Scott on NEWSJACKING – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAw-PBcLTt4. The concept is to a) identify a trending search, b) write blog posts about it, c) pull traffic into your blog and ‘divert’ that traffic to your own goals.
Don’t stress it. SEO and blogging go very much hand in hand, even if many of the class examples are more company centric!
