Answer: That’s a In many searches, (e.g. Pizza, Lawyer, Best Chiropractor), you often see the new Google+ Local (formerly Google places) results ABOVE the natural / organic results and/or very prominently in the middle of the pages with stars and ratings, so very visually prominent.
One can only suppose, therefore, that they do garner more clicks than the organic / natural SEO results. That is why for many local businesses, Google+ Local (GPL) can be considered even more important than traditional SEO.
