Question: What is the diference to Land Page and BLOG?
Question: How can I link the blog to my webpage?
Answer: Landing pages in terms of SEO are very specific. As we discussed in class today, a landing page targets a SPECIFIC search query (e.g. ‘motorcycle insurance’), is SEO optimized in terms of TITLE, META DESCRIPTION, all other important tags, content, etc., and is generally ONE CLICK from the home page. Progressive.com has nicely laid out landing pages on their home page (one click).
A blog is totally different. Your blog is all the odds and ends, little stuff, micro searches that you are targeting. Your blog has opinion, it can be messy… it is more trivial and trivia, stuff that you churn out rapidly.
You want both. Think of your LANDING PAGES like the anchor stores in a shopping mall – the Macy’s, Target, Sears. And the BLOG is like the little specialized boutiques in between – micro focused, changing rapidly.
On your home page, your LANDING PAGES should be pretty permanently affixed as ONE CLICK from the home page. Whereas you should ROTATE your blog posts, one-by-one through the home to freshen the home page and pull Google into those individual blog posts.
