In terms of the PDF / SEO press release question, yes, if you are using PDF realize that basically PDF / Adobe documents are NOT SEO friendly and so they are not well seen / indexed / rewarded by Google… So the workaround is to duplicate the PDF content in an HTML document that Google CAN read that does HAVE true, good tag structure.
PDF is just not SEO friendly – doesn’t help / doesn’t hurt. Same with FLASH and images. SEO is largely a text game, and by text we mean HTML.
