Question: I get different search results when I’m logged into Google and when I’m not. How should I handle SEO for that?
Answer: Google personalizes results. So in terms of SEO, you want to be LOGGED OUT when you are investigating and researching stuff. VERY IMPORTANT.
What’s interesting is that because of personalization and social search we are all starting to see DIFFERENT results – there isn’t ONE Google anymore, there are many. What that means for SEO is it is increasingly important to make social media marketing part of your SEO strategy. Social media mentions, connections… all of that is impacting your customers in a big big way.
But for you, personally, try to be LOGGED OUT to at least get an objective sense of how the world appears to your customers. And use tools like the Google keyword tool to research keywords volume and value.
