Question: Your view on the importance of Google+ for organic page ranking?
Answer: Google+ is INCREDIBLY important to SEO. First and foremost, if you enable Google+ as an individual and attach it to your website / blog via rich snippets / authorship, you can get your picture to show on a Google search. I actually have a video on ‘How to get your picture on a Googel search’ on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O75HXfsHzJg.
In addition, I think it is logical that Google looks at connections to a website and an active Google+ presence, with mentions on Google+ being good. This is not to mention the +1 button – that, again, probably has an impact. You have to think that Google is going to do everything it can to promote Google+ and crush Facebook, so that they will leverage their SEO prowess to pull us into Google+. Such is the behavior of a monopoly.
