Question: On my website I can list page meta tags…on the area I do this they ask for meta key words…so do I list my key words here?
Answer: META TAGS are confusing. The META KEYWORDS tag is IGNORED by both Google and Bing, so no matter what you put there it has ZERO IMPACT on SEO.
The META DESCRIPTION tag is often called PAGE DESCRIPTION in many web editors. It DOES have an impact and heavily influences the description that people see on a Google search – IF it contains the SAME keyword that they entered into Google.
Finally, the TITLE tag is technically a META TAG and is incredibly important to search engine optimization. We teach this in more detail in our course on SEO of course.
