Question: We have many clients come to our website, but not convert. What is remarketing or retargeting and can it help us? Is Google the only platform out there for remarketing?
Answer: Remarketing or retargeting basically means putting a COOKIE on visitors to your site, and then following them AROUND the web. As people go around the web, they will see your ads on the Google network (think YOUTUBE or NEW YORK TIMES). Often people need several reminders of you, your company etc, before they are ready to buy.
So, if done right, retargeting or remarketing ups your message to users and therefore gets you better results. It can be expensive, and is difficult to pull off if your website doesn’t have many visitors. Less than 25K is what I have been told is the cut off. You need more than 25,000 visitors per month to make remarketing work.
