Question: Infographics and instructographics seem the latest link building fad, and also huge on Twitter, and Facebook. What are they and how do you use them for SEO and SMM?
Answer: Infographics are slick little, funny JPG or GIF images that explain a topic. They are very, very popular on Facebook and Twitter. So a company produces an infographic (or an instructographic), then posts it to its fans, etc., and people hopefully share this infographic virally.
The main SEO purpose of an infographic is to get links. Link building is incredibly important to SEO, and a good infographic can work as link bait. Google ‘What my mom thinks I do’ and you’ll find tons of them. There are also free software sites that help you create infographics pretty easily these day. So if you have an idea for an infographic, you can create one.
