Question: How do we get our “videos” or “images” ranked on front page of Google’s images or Google’s videos pages?
Answer: Videos are very helpful for SEO. First, you can optimize a video – especially on YouTube – by getting keywords in the video title, video description, and video tags. Secondly, by cross-linking your website and building links TO the video, you can help that video show on YouTube searches and on Google searches. Third, by increasing the view count and the comments, those ‘social mentions’ help your video immensely. Then, fourth, you create a ‘virtuous circle’ – more views, more shares, better SEO performance for the video leads to more, more, more.
As for images of this applies, just be sure to surround your videos with keyword relevant text, and to optimize the ‘pages’ that have the images for the target SEO keywords. You can also submit a ‘video sitemap’ to Google webmaster tools.
And, it’s synergistic – having great SEO text pages helps your videos and your images. Placing SEO friendly videos and images on your pages also helps your textual pages. Two for one!
