Question: In order for Google + to help you with SEO do you need to just add people to circles or do people need to add you in circles? Also I read somewhere that the best is that poeple add you to circles according to their interests is this true?
Answer: Google+ helps you with SEO / search in this way. First and foremost, GET followers. It doesn’t matter if you follow other people. It matters if people CIRCLE you. So you need followers. The threshold is about 100 followers.
Second, enable authorship on Google+. (Read my tutorial post here: http://www.jm-seo.net/SEO-tutorial/authorship-rich-snippets.html).
And, probably, yes if people follow you on topics that are shared that probably would be better. But for now, it’s cleary a quantity game: GET FOLLOWERS. (Or circlers, if you want to stay true to the Google+ lingo).
