Question: On March 15th I did not show up at all on my keywords with Google. I was still indexed just no search results). March 27th I was back and better than ever. Did this have to do with Google algorythms changing? –
Question: I’ve heard that Googles new approcah is to honor website contect more and SEO less. This is evidentally because Google wants to recognize content more and de-emphasize SEO and will even down grade sites that are doing major SEO with little emphasis on content.
Answer: Changing your site, especially improving your tag and website structure to be in alignment with SEO best practices will always improve your rank, in the long term. In the short term, your site can be put in the ‘Google sandbox’ and temporarily deprecated. This is not uncommon.
As for Google’s new algorithms, they change the algorithm frequently but I think that there is a lot of confusion about this… The basic principles – good keyword heavy text, well defined pages that are focused, good keyword heavy TITLE tags, etc., do NOT change, and have NOT changed over time. It’s not like they massively re-write the Google search engine!
Marginal things DO change. Right now, the big changes are in a) social search, especially Google+ and b) localization. Finally, I think that Google tries to scare the SEO community via FUD – Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. So don’t take every Google proclamation at face value!
