Question: Hi, do I need different “Thank You” pages for different goals ? For example I want to separate Registrations for Download and Registration for a webinar, can I use a generic “thank you” page or not?How can I get the code to past in to my Thank You page?
Answer: That’s a good question. Yes, and no. In simplest terms, it is easiest to have different Thank You pages for different goals. Alternatively, you can have ALL sorts of traffic feed into the same goal and use Advanced Segments to slice and dice them and thereby see what type of traffic actually ends up in a goal. You can really set it up either way.
You can also use parameters on the end of the thank you URL, but that gets rather complicated.
The Google Analytics code MUST BE on your thank you page of course to be tracked. So you have to figure out how to do that.
