Question: So duplicating a page, then changing the Title and any a Hrefs, is that enough to keep from being penalised? There may be no H1 or H2 to change. I know I’ll get the answer later. thanks.
Question: Re:tags, if you have 15 local towns that you want to SEO how do you address getting your main keywords AND the town names into the Title and H tags?
Question: Is there a character count limit on the H tags and a Href tags?
Answer: Question 1: yes, those are not duplicates. Just change a little content. More than the TITLE tag, some of the visible text needs to vary page by page.
Question 2: you want laser focused landing pages for EACH major town. You want one click access FROM the home page to the landing pages.
Question 3: no technical character limit, but don’t over do it. So I would say ONE H1 ony per page, ideally. And make it very close to the TITLE tag, less than 80 characters. But no strict limit.
