Question: Question while you are here…… What is your opinion of WordPress as a website platform? We are currently hamstrung by the cost of any website revision/update of the original design/graphics by the designer of our original site. We have been considering using Dreamweaver in house and more recently became aware of WordPress. We would be looking at using WordPress 1st for a website and then/eventually for a blog.
Answer: WordPress is fantastic for SEO – if – you download and install either ALL IN ONE SEO for WordPress or Yoast. Just Google either of those, and you’ll find the plug in. Then, be sure that your WordPress theme enables the H1 / H2 tag family and you are structurally ready to go.
Next, as you use WordPress, be sure to blog in an SEO friendly way. Meaning – 1) know your target keywords and place these in your TITLE tag, META DESCRIPTION and throughout the blog post, including H1 / H2 tags, ALT attribute for images, etc. Don’t forget, 2), to ‘tag’ your post using WordPress tags that ARE your target keywords. That WordPress tagging system will automatically build a great keyword heavy website struture.
