Question: How does video impact SEO – is it true video gets ranked first?
Answer: Video clearly helps SEO and is also supported by it. Having embedded video on pages helps the pages themselves (especially YouTube). In addition, you can use YouTube videos as SEO in and of themselves by optimizing the video TITLE, video description, getting a lot of views, a lot of likes / dislikes, and comments. Video is an SEO / social media game.
Also, realize that YouTube is the No. 1 search engine (bigger than BING!). So video is a must for many, many companies especially in hi-tech. I teach these concepts in our classes on Social Media. I also really cultivate our own YouTube channel; as for SEO, YouTube is a must!
