Question: What is the best way to remve a buniness (business is now closed) from Google places/maps which is located at the same address of my new business (eg. Business closed, we moved in and now trying to update our Google maps/places but this old business keeps showing up and we do not. I assume that we are not showing up because the other business is at the same address)
Answer: To remove a business from Google Places, the best thing to do is to claim it. Hopefully you still control the phone number and/or address (can receive mail). So then claim it, and then once it is claimed you can delete it.
As a Google user you can also go in and complain directly on the software that the business is closed, but that is much slower.
If someone else has claimed it, or you claimed it but lost your password, heaven help you. It is then very difficult to do anything!
