Question: How do we know where to put our key words on our website?
Answer: That’s the $64,000 question. First, you have to identify high volume, high value (to you) keywords. Second, you then WEAVE them strategically into your website pages. We teach that in our class on Page Tags. In a nutshell: Put your keywords in your PAGE TITLE (TITLE TAG), that is the MOST IMPORTANT tag on any page. Then make sure you have H1 / A HREF, ALT image attribute and a few others… Write keyword-heavy text. If you go to geico.com and look at some of their landing pages vs. target keywords (e.g. Motorcycle Insurance), you can see a good example of ON PAGE SEO done right.
There is a lot to understand here… But you have the basic idea: Keywords -> Keywords in tags like the TITLE tag -> keyword heavy content. That is one key aspect of SEO: on page.
