Question: What should we do if a client asks to see our SEO work? What should we show and what shouldn’t we show?
Answer: Most of the people who take our classes are small business clients / marketers. So this problem does not occur. But philosophically I recommend working hand-in-hand with clients, empowering them to UNDERSTAND what SEO is and how it works. I find that many SEO companies attempt to keep their clients ‘in the dark’ – the issue here is that this negativity just ultimately backfires, and the clients are very unhappy. So I personally recommend sharing everything.
I am a very positive person. I believe if you know things, well, you do not need to be afraid of others ‘copying them.’ If they can easily copy your knowledge, or there is no logical business relationship in an SEO / client relationship, then a different business model is in order. I wish our beloved industry would become more open and honest. One client at a time…
