Answer: Facebook is very “fun” oriented. So, that said, I think of Facebook more as a “fun” social marketing venue. To the extent that your B2B endeavors are fun, they can be Facebook friendly. Let me give you an example: The CES (Consumer Electronics Show). This ia very B2B as well as B2C electronics show, the largest in the world. Their Facebook page should emphasize the FUN things at the show, rather than the more technical, more serious topics.
So, positioned correctly, Facebook can work great for B2B marketing. Think of Facebook as the corporate picnic, and then if that works for your marketing, Facebook will work. If not, not.
