Question: If you are posting as a guest on another’s blog, how do you use the rel=author?
Question: I have a small business selling to small businesses most of which are low tech. What is the best way to use Google+?
Question: When you set up a company site you can choose brand, product, company — what are the differences, pros, cons?
Answer: In terms of posting on someone else’s blog, you have to have the rel=”author” point to your ‘about’ page and it has to be crossed linked to your Google+ page. They did not make this easy to do, so it really is only worth the trouble if you are a regular contributor to that blog. For one time posts, it probably just isn’t worth the trouble.
Remember that the RICH SNIPPETS / AUTHOR info also only helps a) if you have a lot of followers on Google+, in the thousands; and/or they are seeing your posts because they are connected to you on Google+ (your actual followers).
As for the differences in setting up a company, brand, product, on Google+, I have not pursued that, so I don’t know where there might be new opportunities. It’s new.
