Question: It appears Jason is talking about companies that are individualy ownerd. What approuch would he suggest to goggle plus for a larger corporation?
Answer: I do believe that, for now, the big opportunity in Google+ is more for individuals than for companies. Even for a large company – say, a large brand like Edelman in PR, or even Ford motor, having people speak for / about the brand is valuable. It’s obviously not either / or – you can BOTH have employees participate in Google+ as spokespeople of the brand and also have the brand have its own Google+ page. The latter being very much like a Facebook page.
Where I don’t see much differentiation, however, is in Google+ company pages vs. Facebook pages. If the audience isn’t there on Google+, you risk talking with no one listening; and you run the risk of purely duplicating your company on Google+ vs. on Facebook. That isn’t very compelling in my view.
