Question: So, would all my defined landing pages show on my website navigation or do they not all show?
Answer: For SEO, you want VERY VISIBLE landing pages – so landing pages that are SEO optimized, public (not excluded by robots.txt) and generally ONE CLICK from the home page.
For AdWord, you definitely want landing pages. But your flow pattern is different. People should come DIRECTLY from Google to your page. You do NOT want these pages public (exclude them via robots.txt and the NOINDEX tag). Why? Because for metrics purposes, you want to segregate them, and know that 100% of the inbound traffic came from AdWords, Facebook, etc., (wherever you are advertising). So – it’s a little ironic – but for AdWords your landing pages are HIDDEN whereas for SEO they are PUBLIC. It’s all about measuring results / ROI.
