Question: Is it better for a busniess to focus more on Google places or Google search? I have a client who feels they have been fooled because their former marketer focused more on places instead of Google search
Question: How much does meta tags in the header of the html actually impact SEO?
Answer: Both matter. If your searches are local AND Google generates Google Places results, then generally Places appears FIRST and you MUST optimize for Google Places. If Google does NOT show Places for a search (usually a long tail search), then it’s an SEO game only.
In addition, you must cross-reference your website to your SEO and vice-versa. That’s very important for Google Success!
The META TAGS that matter are TITLE and META DESCRIPTION. They matter a great deal. The META KEYWORDS tag is IGNORED.
