Question: When setting metatags, should you repeat the metadata on different pages to increase search ranking? Or does this have a negative impact?
Answer: A good site has related content in ‘silos.’ Not duplicate content, but lots of keyword rich, well structured site. Our site, for instance, is a keyword cluster of information on our target keywords – SEO Training, SEO Class, SEO Course – and target cities in the USA / Canada. No two pages are alike, but we have lots of keyword density for these targets, and show up well for those searches.
Duplicate content – truly 100% the same content – CAN be a problem. But you should still have lots of thematically connected content. The two concepts are different.
