Question: I use a lot of free listing sites such as Google places yahoo local is it true that the description is where they get the keywords from?
Question: I was told Google finds meta tags on its own, that it doesn’t matter if you enter them or not.
Answer: Generally speaking, they take the META DESCRIPTION tag content to be your description on the search engine results page. About 90% of the time. So you want to embed your keywords into the META DESCRIPTION tag where possible.
The other META tag that really really matters is the TITLE tag and that becomes the description on Google. The META KEYWORDS tag is IGNORED.
