Question: What are the RECENT studies on how much Social Media REALLY helps your bottom line? Social Media can take SO much time – is it REALLY worth it?
Answer: There is no generic answer here. There is not single metric. What you should do is create an organized social media plan for your OWN company, and build in metrics like ‘likes,’ ‘shares,’ and click through’s to targeted URLs. Twitter will work great for some companies, and not others; Facebook for some and not others.
This is part of the challenge of Social media marketing – it’s not one size fits all, as we teach in our three part class on Social Media Marketing. Also you want to do biggest bang for buck, which is often SEO and not Social Media Marketing. I don’t just go and do the most hyped thing of the moment (it seems to be Twitter) just because the crowd is there.
That said you can do amazing things with social media, if you stay focused!
