Question: I am a locksmith, and I have been blocked by Google Places repeatedly due to the term ‘locksmith’, which is apparently disallowed. However, I’ve seen other locksmiths on Google Places. Suggestions?
Answer: This is so strange. I guess that locksmith as a word / category has been so heavily spammed by Google that you need a lot of human intervention to get it listed in Google Places. Who would have thought? Keep me posted on this. I researched it myself and don’t see any easy answers, beyond simple SEO for phrases like ‘Locksmith San Diego.’ SEO based searches are not affected. It’s the Google Places dimension that really got creamed.
