Question: Hello, please can I ask … If my website has appeared lots of times when people have searched for my keywords (I.e. 16000) but my click through ratio is or 0.02% is that good or poor please? Also is 0.2% poor or good?
Answer: In terms of AdWords advertising, any time you have a click through rate above 1%, I would consider that good. However, if you have a laser focused campaign, you can get click through rates in the upwards of 10%.
Beyond AdWords, you don’t get great information on the CTR’s for your pages. Webmaster tools has some of that info. I would make sure that you have written pithy, exciting TITLE tags and good META DESCRIPTIONS for each of your pages. The strong, focused match between what you have and what they want is the key to raising your CTR. .02% is not very good.
On the Google Display / Content network – if that is what you are asking – you may see really low CTRS’s like that .02%. That is not uncommon, as on the Google Display network, people are browsing.
