Question: What about managing/ editing a website through Adobe Dreamweaver vs. just plain html – does it affect ranking anyhow? This is a discussion we have my company between generl marketers and IT geeks. Marketers argue that it is easier and time saving to do Dreamweaver, geeks say that it creates too much of extra content.. But wat it the impact on the SEO?
Answer: Google does not care HOW you build the Website. In terms of on-page SEO, it cares about the output. Do you have well defined keyword heavy TITLE tags? Do you have great META DESCRIPTIONS? Do you have H1 / H2 and A HREF’s interlinking the pages? And – finally – do you have meaty, keyword heavy content? Those are the things that matter.
So you can build a site with Dreamweaver, or WordPress, or GoDaddy’s Website tonight – all will be fine. Dreamweaver is a very powerful, very customizable platform – so if you like it, use it. But it doesn’t really matter to Google. All that matters it the actual HTML output.
