Question: Doesn’t Google know your machine, even if you’re logged out?
Answer: Yes, sort of. Google customizes searches based on 1) are you signed in?, 2) cookies, and 3) your IP address. You can easily take care of #1 by signing out, #2 by clearing your cookies.
The IP address is more challenging. I actually periodically reset my network to FORCE an IP change because that does, indeed, have a marginal impact. I also check my SEO results all the time on many computers as I travel around – libraries, kiosks, trade shows, friend’s computers, etc.
