Question: Can these keyword search tool/SEO tools also be helpful for news searches?
Answer: There are sort of two questions here, not sure which one you are really asking. One is if SEO works for brand new categories. Here, the answer is ‘No’ in the sense that if people do not search for the category. Then, the SEO strategy becomes identifying adjacent markets, similar searches wherein the person searches for ‘x’ and you explain that ‘x’ is related to ‘y,’ what you have. An example is ‘T-shirt Quilts’ (unknown category) vs. ‘Sewing project,’ known category.
The second implied question is on news / news release. Here it’s simpler. Google loves news releases, and you can leverage free news release / press release services. Identify your target keywords, create news releases / press releases, upload those to your site, and use a free syndication service like Pitchengine.com to syndicate. We teach this in our class on press releases / news releases for search engine optimization. But Google definitely eats up good SEO-friendly press releases!
