Question: Can you set your Blog to run on your website instead of just linking to it? If so will that show up as new news on your site?
Answer: As for the first part of your question, as we discussed in class, your best practice is to have your blog on your own site. That preserves the inbound link juice to your domain, and helps your total domain’s PageRank.
News and blogs are different. The blog is more informal, shorter, more opinion, less fact. Your news releases are more formal, longer, follow a standard structure. Finally, press releases can be easily syndicated whereas blogs cannot. So press releases are a very, very important part of effective SEO.
