Question: We are a magazine site – would you recommend using like button on the pages with articles (content), rather than (or in addition to) the home page? WOuld you do both comment and like on content pages?
Answer: Absolutely. The NYTIMES.com is really a thought leader in this regard. So you can ‘like’ (a.k.a., ‘recommend’) individual apges on the NYTIMES site, and thereby your friends see that. Also, if you sign into the site, you can ‘see’ what your friends are recommending. So it is making reading the newspaper online a more ‘social’ experience.
For a news media site, I would highly recommend that you add the ‘like’ or ‘recommend’ button (same thing, different name) to all your pages, just as at NYTIMES.com.
