Question: What’s a good starting point to start purchasing awords? Say $50K marketing budget – what amount shoudl be good starting point to purchase?
Answer: I would start simple. I would start with the Google Network (only), and not the Display network. I would start with very focused keywords, and bid a little above the ‘average’ as indicated by the keywords tool.
In terms of budget, it can be anything you want. If you think that your customers really use Google, then you really have to make SEO and/or AdWords a priority. Start with an experiment, and see how it goes. If you follow best practices in terms of keyword definitions, match types, landing pages (quality score), I think you will be very pleased with AdWords.
Even more if you build AdWords on top of a successful SEO strategy!
