Answer: Crazy high bill – that’s a great turn of phrase. Yes, this is an issue. How do you prevent this? First and foremost set your DAILY BUDGET at the campaign level. Second, bid at a reasonable amount ONLY for terms that “make sense” for your marketing goals. Third, MONITOR the cost, daily at first; weekly thereafter; and MONITOR the ROI by setting up Goals in Google Analytics.
AdWords is definitely NOT something you should leave on auto-pilot, especially at the very beginning. It requires some active participation on your part.
