Question: I thought Bing/Yahoo had grown to about a 30% search engine market share?
Answer: Most public accounts do put Bing / Yahoo at 30%. For all of my clients, I have NEVER seen them this high. I would say, on average, 10% of traffic.
Moreover, 1) Yahoo no longer has a search engine, so it’s all Bing, and 2) what works for Google will work for BING. So if you optimize for Google, Bing really becomes an afterthought.
I really believe that game to play is Google (SEO) and then Social Media (especially Facebook, or Google Places / Yelp if you have a local dimension), and possibly AdWords. Bing is, sadly, a distant number two with no real compelling advantage to Google. So it’s a monopoly environment in SEO.
