Question: So is there a limit as to how many keywords there shoudl be on 1 landing page?
Question: How often do we need to change/revisit kewords per landing page.. 1x week? 1x month?
Question: Do they keywords that you create have to be listed in the landing page content?
Question: What if we service all US? List out all 50 states?
Answer: SEO success is about focus. So, first, identify the target keyword family. You want to be as focused as you can; the better your focus, the longer the keyword (more long tail vs. short tail), the EASIER it is to win. RICHES ARE IN THE NICHES.
So, having identified a keyword family, then you WEAVE that keyword into the tag structure, beginning with the TITLE tag, META DESCRIPTION tag, H1 / H2 and keyword heavy content on your page (as we will teach in the Page Tags class).
Is there a limit? Yes, absolutely. TITLE tag is less than 80 indexed characters; less then 69 visible. So you can’t put more in there than that; which FORCES you to focus it. Don’t combine distant keywords in there. Microsoft Business Server should be ONE page vs. Microsoft Share point. That’s all about FOCUS. One keyword family = (at least) one page on your website, for focus purposes.
Remember, the META KEYWORDS tag is IGNORED. So it has no real SEO value.
As for your question, about how frequently… You won’t probably change your target keywords that rapidly. You WILL want to change your content, especially adding NEW content, new pages, new blog posts, etc. Google favors sites that update frequently with keyword heavy, new content!
As for your geographic… If you service all 50 US states, AND your customers search for those keywords, then YES, ideally you create pages and content that reflect the searches… It’s all about CUSTOMERS. If at target customers searches for the keyword FLORIDA, for instance, then YES, you need a page or pages that have FLORIDA in them.
