Question: Many pro photographers have used flash based website over the past few years..I’m getting the picture to find an HTML website. Have you heard of any companies that phtoographers like to use that are HTML. Also, some photographers are using “BLogsites”…a combo website and blog. Have you had any expereince with these? If so what is your opinion ?
Question: Do you sugest not doing news release on blogs since they are more “informal ?”
Question: If I syndicate news, how will other blogs, etc.. pick up my news?
Answer: I do not have any direct experience here, other than to say that YES, Flash-based sides are HORRIBLE for SEO. It’s not that Adobe Flash hurts you; it’s that it is largely invisible to Google. You must use text-based HTML to do well on SEO.
So you have to either have FLASH at the top of the page; or have certain text-heavy pages as your Google attractiveness.
In terms of news vs. blogs, both are great. It’s just that news is more structured, and news has free syndication opportunities (Pitchengine.com, PRLOG.org, etc.). So if you have to do only one, do news. News syndication works through RSS feeds and these blogs subscribe to the free news services for content.
